National Nutrition Food Security Program Coordinator, US Department of Veterans Affairs

Megan Marie Bowman, MS, RDN, is an accomplished nutrition leader and public health advocate with over 15 years of dedicated service within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Currently serving as the National Nutrition Food Security Program Coordinator for the VHA Food Security Office, Megan spearheads national initiatives combating food insecurity among Veterans, including innovative food is medicine programs such as Produce Prescription and Medically-Tailored Groceries. Previously, Megan held key leadership roles as Assistant Chief and Clinical Nutrition Manager at VA Salt Lake City Health Care System, managing operations, strategic planning, and clinical nutrition services. She was also a Health and Aging Policy Fellow with the U.S. Surgeon General’s Office and an adjunct faculty member at Salt Lake Community College. An accomplished researcher and published author, Megan holds an MS in Human Nutrition from Arizona State University and has received multiple awards for excellence in clinical nutrition leadership and education.
