Hunt Walne is a field agronomist, plant physiologist, and precision ag specialist in the Mississippi Delta currently working for Helena Agri-Enterprises. Hunt spends most of his time consulting directly with farmers, helping them implement more efficient soil fertility and plant nutrition management programs, adopt precision agriculture technology, and transition toward more sustainable agronomic practices. Before beginning his tenure with Helena, Hunt worked as a research assistant as he completed his doctorate in Environmental Plant Physiology at Mississippi State University. There, his research focused on unraveling the effects of environmental stress on a host of economically important row crops. He also holds a bachelor of science degree in Agronomy – Integrated Crop Management from Mississippi State University. Hunt currently resides in Greenwood, MS, with his two Labrador retrievers, where he spends as much time as he can in the outdoors.
