Child Nutrition Officer, Newman's Own Foundation
Christina Chauvenet, PhD, is an expert in public health nutrition and food systems with 15 years of experience in policy, nonprofit, and research settings. Christina has Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina in Maternal and Child Health, with a Minor in Health Behavior. She is passionate about advancing food justice through the intersection of planetary and human health. She has worked on a variety of aspects of the food system through farmers markets, community gardens, and federal nutrition programs. Christina currently serves as the Child Nutrition Officer at Newman’s Own Foundation, where she manages partnerships with grantees and leads the organization’s monitoring, evaluation, and learning work. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Farmers Market Coalition. A second-generation Cuban American, she speaks Spanish and Portuguese. Christina is a former gymnast and in her free time serves as a commentator for NCAA gymnastics meets.
