Rob Rubba is the chef and founding partner of the sustainability driven Oyster Oyster in Washington, DC. Rubba is the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Chef Award by the James Beard Foundation as well as the 2022 best new chef Award from Food and Wine magazine. Since 2022 o Oyster Oyster has held a Michelin Star and In 2024, his restaurant received a green star from the Michelin guide for its sustainability efforts. His career spans over 20+ years, cooking in the best restaurants across the country. Rubba has branched out on his own, focusing on sustainability. Rubba, prepares a seasonal, local, plant-forward menu that expresses the Mid-Atlantic bounty, staying true to minimal waste, a low carbon footprint, and supporting regenerative, organic and responsible farming.
