Organizations fighting to erase food deserts met Thursday morning to check on one of their latest efforts.
The Sunflower Foundation says access to healthy food options is vital to not only feeding communities, but also preventing health chronic health issues before they arise. That’s why the Foundation is spearheading ‘Food is Medicine’ along other entities like the Aspen Institute. The project is an effort to train health centers in connecting food insecure patients with agencies that can help them.
